Privacy policy
We respect your privacy. This notice explains how Talking To My Thoughts (TTMT) handles information when you use our public website, forms, and reflective tools.
Who we are
The data controller is TALKING TO MY THOUGHTS CIC (UK company number 16994141), a Community Interest Company incorporated on 28 January 2026.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact info@talkingtomythoughts.com. We do not publish our registered office address on this website.
Company details, including the registered office filed with Companies House, are on the public register: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16994141
We provide reflective conversation spaces and digital tools. We are not a clinical service, GP practice, or crisis line.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Contact details you submit (for example name and email on the free guide or partner enquiry forms).
- Technical data such as browser type, device, and approximate usage through hosting logs and, if you consent, analytics tools.
- Content you choose to write in the daily prompts or workbook stays in this browser. We do not receive that writing unless you submit it through a form.
How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, deliver resources you request, improve the site, and keep our community safe within clear boundaries.
Requesting the free guide is a request for that guide. We email the download link either way. We email occasional reflections, new episodes and news about future events only if you tick that option on the guide form, or if you choose TTMT updates on the contact form. You can unsubscribe at any time. Earlier guide requests are not treated as consent for those updates.
TTMT owns the data we collect through our site and services. We do not sell your personal data. We do not share identifiable personal data with third parties for their own marketing or commercial use.
We may use anonymised, aggregated information that cannot identify you for impact reporting and to understand whether our work is reaching the people we aim to serve.
We do not use your reflections for automated clinical decisions.
Legal bases (UK)
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on:
- Consent, when you opt in to emails, analytics cookies, or clearly choose to share information.
- Legitimate interests, to run and improve TTMT safely, prevent misuse, and understand aggregate use of the site.
- Legal obligation, where we must keep limited records for safeguarding, finance, or regulatory reasons.
Processors we use
We use trusted processors who handle data only on our instructions and under appropriate contracts. They do not own your data. Current categories include:
- Website hosting and delivery (Vercel).
- Email delivery when you contact us or receive resources (Resend).
- Form and account data storage (Supabase or a secure server we operate; we will state which applies on the relevant form).
- Analytics, only if you consent: Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, and PostHog.
- Paid in-person events sold through Eventbrite (booking and payment data is handled by Eventbrite under their privacy policy).
Retention
We keep the email used to send a guide you requested for as long as we need to deliver it and handle a question about that request.
We keep marketing contact details for up to 12 months where you opted in and there has been no meaningful engagement, then delete or suppress them unless we must keep them longer for safeguarding or legal reasons.
Partner enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and manage the relationship.
Server logs are rotated on a short schedule through our hosting provider.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share identifiable personal data with third parties except where you have chosen to use their service (for example Eventbrite for ticket purchase), where a processor acts on our instructions, or where we must disclose information by law or to protect someone from serious harm in line with our safeguarding approach.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies needed for security, cookie choice storage, and basic operation.
Optional analytics cookies and tools (Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, PostHog) are only used if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Children
TTMT is aimed at adults aged 18 and over. Our content is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Automated decisions
We do not use your personal data to make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Your rights
You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability of personal data we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise your rights, email info@talkingtomythoughts.com. We will respond within one month in most cases.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.
International visitors
Our site is primarily intended for users in the United Kingdom. If you access TTMT from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the UK or where our providers operate.
